The Advent season is one of the most enchanting times of the year. Lights sparkle everywhere, the scent of cinnamon and mulled wine fills the air, and cities shine in the warm glow of countless fairy lights. You must visit a Christmas market to immerse yourself in this unique atmosphere. Innsbruck, with its unique alpine backdrop, offers an incomparable Christmas experience. Here, you will discover why the Innsbruck Christmas markets are an absolute must and what highlights await you there.
Christmas Market in the Old Town
Set against the historic backdrop of the Golden Roof, Innsbruck's most famous Christmas market is located. Traditional wooden stalls offer handicrafts, Christmas decorations, and regional specialities. The "fairy tale and giant figures" above the stalls delight visitors of all ages.

Kaiserweihnacht Bergisel
The Kaiserweihnacht is on the Bergisel from 15 November and delights above all with a sensational view and small stalls offering traditional products. The market is divided into two smaller areas, with many delicious stalls before the Andreas Hofer monument. We have been there several times and can confirm it 100%: The Kaiserweihnacht is worth a visit. Please don't forget to visit the Kaiserjäger Museum and the Tirol Panorama, which showcases the battle around Bergisel against the French invasion.
Opening hours: November 15 to December 22, Friday 2:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am - 8:00 pm.
Christmas Market on Maria-Theresien-Straße
This modern market impresses with its elegance. Glass columns with light decorations and international stalls create a cosmopolitan flair. It is perfect for a shopping spree in a festive atmosphere.

Christmas Magic in Wilten
With its ten stalls, the Christmas magic at Wiltener Platzl promises a dreamy, romantic, and a little crazy atmosphere. Here, you will find a unique mixture of handmade jewellery, artistic individual pieces, and regional and international specialities. The culinary and cultural programme highlights leave nothing to be desired.
A diverse stage programme creates a festive atmosphere, while the varied children's programme with hands-on activities and demonstrations delights our youngest visitors.
