The Spiral is a place where vegan cuisine is reimagined. The owners — Martin, Katja and Simon — want to make plant-based nutrition accessible to anyone who is curious about it or simply wants to eat well.
“We don’t want to profit from animals,” they say. This attitude is rooted in conviction.
Martin explains: “I couldn’t bring myself to kill an animal if it stood in front of me and looked me in the eye. That’s why I asked myself whether I had the right to consume meat.”
It was this consideration that led to the creation of the Spiral, which aims to promote plant-based food without moralising. You won’t find a big ‘vegan’ sign here. The concept is open and inviting.
“We want to reach people who may have preconceptions or who don’t yet know much about vegan nutrition,” says Simon. “We wanted to offer vegan food to non-vegans.”
This creates an atmosphere of curiosity and openness at the Spiral.
Meow is where Italian passion meets plant-based innovation. On 30 December 2023, founder Marco Rizzo opened the restaurant with a clear goal: to show that vegan cuisine is not about sacrifice.
“I opened Meow for ethical and environmental reasons, but also out of a deep passion for my craft,” says Marco.
The restaurant smells of freshly baked dough, homemade cashew mozzarella and tomato sauce, evoking memories of Italian summers.
The cooking here is just as Marco remembers it from his childhood – only without animal products.
“I want to show that you can enjoy traditional Italian cuisine without exploiting animals. The taste, joy and memories remain – only the ingredients change.”
This makes Meow the first completely vegan Italian pizzeria and restaurant in Innsbruck.
From classic margherita pizza to creamy pasta and tiramisu, every dish is a celebration of plant-based dining.
At Café Naiv, it’s all about enjoyment, community and shared values. Since opening in February 2023, the owners have created a place where people and the environment are equally important.
The café is vegan because this aligns with their philosophy of life. “We’re not just plant-based; we see veganism as a holistic approach.”
According to the Vegan Society’s definition, this means avoiding all forms of exploitation and cruelty to animals while promoting animal-free alternatives.
This philosophy is also reflected in the interior: there is no leather, felt or other animal products.
Naiv serves breakfast all day, as well as homemade cakes, tarts and lunch dishes.
Syrups, spreads and tortillas are made by hand with noticeable attention to detail.
Complementing the vegan scene in Innsbruck, Green Taste Bistro offers fresh, uncomplicated cuisine.
Owner Nilo combines regional ingredients with international flair.
Bowls, wraps and smoothies make for a quick and healthy lunch.
